Description

Gordon WiltsieGordon Wiltsie, a veteran National Geographic photographer and writer, who has recently moved to the Coastside, will show pictures and talk about his long career documenting some of the wildest places and cultures on earth.

The talk will cover the span of his career, beginning as a college student vagabonding in Europe and Asia and move quickly onwards to dramatic mountaineering, skiing and polar dogsledding expeditions, often accompanied by the leading climbers and explorers of our times.

He will take us to places as varied as the North and South Poles, up remote granite cliffs that took weeks to climb and galloping across Mongolian steppes with the descendants of Genghis Khan. It will be an evening to be remembered.

A reception and the opening of a gallery exhibit of his work will follow the presentation. He will also be signing copies of his acclaimed book, “To the Ends of the Earth, Adventures of an Expedition Photographer.”
